Collierville Children’s Business Fair Success

At Mid-South Gifted Academy, we believe that some of the most valuable learning happens outside the classroom. That’s why we host the Collierville Children’s Business Fair (CBF) twice a year—to give kids a unique opportunity to practice real-world entrepreneurial skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

The entrepreneurial journey is about much more than selling a product. It’s about taking risks, learning from failure, and solving problems creatively. Running a business at the CBF challenges kids to think on their feet, adapt to new situations, and find innovative ways to market and sell their products. These experiences help build resilience and confidence—qualities that are critical for success in any endeavor.

Real World Skills

The fair also fosters essential skills like communication, salesmanship, and customer service. From explaining their products to customers to negotiating prices, kids practice the art of connecting with others and presenting their ideas clearly. These are real-world skills that can’t be learned from a textbook—they require active participation and, sometimes, a bit of trial and error.

Perhaps most importantly, the CBF celebrates hard work, creativity, and ingenuity. Whether it’s crafting a handmade product or designing a marketing strategy, kids learn the value of dedication and perseverance. They see their ideas come to life, and they take pride in what they’ve accomplished. See our Facebook reel to watch this in action!

Join Us at the Next CBF

Hosting the fair twice a year allows us to give more children the opportunity to experience these lessons. It also provides a chance for returning participants to refine their approach, try new ideas, and continue growing as young entrepreneurs.

Our mission with the CBF is simple: to prepare kids for the future by helping them develop the mindset and skills they need to succeed. Entrepreneurship teaches them to embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and discover their own potential—all while having fun in the process.

We’re proud to host this important event and can’t wait to see what our young entrepreneurs will achieve next! Join us for the Spring Children’s Business Fair on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, and experience the creativity and determination that make this event so special.

Entrepreneurial Kids = Trailblazers

For children who love to innovate, solve problems, and push boundaries, MSGA offers a learning environment where they can thrive. The same entrepreneurial spirit celebrated at the CBF is woven into our approach to education, helping students develop the skills and mindset they need to succeed in life. They’re trailblazers already- we’d love to give you more information about how they can join our community of MSGA Trailblazers!
