Reimagine Private, Gifted Elementary School

Full-time gifted education for students in grades Pre-K through 4th

Full-Time Gifted

At Mid-South Gifted Academy, we’re dedicated to providing a full-time, private elementary experience tailored for gifted PreK-4th grade students.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the intellectual needs of advanced students, offering them the depth and complexity they crave.

With a focus on critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, our program challenges students daily, helping them to reach their full potential in an environment that understands and celebrates their unique abilities.

We are a small school by design and easily offer outdoor learning experiences

small by design

We believe that a smaller learning environment fosters greater connections and more personalized education. That’s why our private school is small by design, allowing for lower student-to-teacher ratios and more individualized attention. In our close-knit community, every student is known, valued, and supported. Teachers can tailor gifted instruction to meet the specific needs of each child, ensuring they are both challenged and nurtured in their academic journey.

Our multi-age studios provide a flexible environment that fosters collaboration, leadership, and individual growth. These studios include PreK-K, 1st-2nd, and 3rd-4th.

Relationship centered

At the heart of our school is a commitment to building strong, meaningful relationships between students, teachers, and families. We know that children learn best when they feel connected and understood.

Our relationship-centered approach ensures that each student is supported not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well. By fostering trust and collaboration, we create a safe and supportive environment where gifted students can thrive.

Students working in a classroom and focused on mastery-based learning

Mastery based

Our innovative, mastery-based learning model is designed to move away from traditional grade levels and focus on each student’s individual progress.

In this personalized approach, students advance through the personalized gifted curriculum at their own pace, mastering concepts before moving on.

This model allows for greater flexibility and ensures that every child is learning in a way that best suits their strengths, interests, and needs. By focusing on mastery, we build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.

A Place Where Gifted Kids Love to Learn

At Mid-South Gifted Academy, our students genuinely love coming to school!

They’re surrounded by intellectual peers who share their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, creating a community where they feel understood and valued. Our teachers are not only experts in gifted education but also deeply caring individuals who build strong, supportive relationships with each student. In this nurturing environment, children are free to explore their interests, engage in meaningful work, and develop a true passion for learning.

No Homework, No Busy Work: More Time for What Matters

At Mid-South Gifted Academy, we believe that a child’s time after school should be spent exploring their interests, participating in extracurricular activities, and enjoying quality time with family. That’s why we don’t assign busy work. Instead, we focus on using our school hours efficiently, ensuring that students engage in meaningful, productive learning during the day. Our approach allows for at least an hour of recess every day, giving students the time they need to play, socialize, and recharge.

Tons of homework can lead to unnecessary stress and a negative attitude toward school. By eliminating homework, we remove this stressor and give our students the freedom to pursue their passions outside of school. Removing the stress of hours of homework is one way we transform the lives of our students AND their families!

Building Leadership, Confidence, and Social-Emotional Skills

We believe that gifted education goes beyond academics. At our private school, we focus on developing the whole child, emphasizing leadership, confidence building, and social-emotional learning.

Through our programs, students practice real-world and soft skills, such as collaboration, communication, and empathy. We provide opportunities for gifted students to take on leadership roles, build resilience, and develop the confidence to tackle challenges head-on. Our approach ensures that students are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the skills they need to succeed in life and make a positive impact in their communities.
