A tour can tell you about a school. A month can help you know.

Experience full-time gifted education before making a long-term decision.

The initial call is a short, no-pressure chat to learn about your child, answer your questions, and see if Extended Open House is a good next step.

Mid-South Gifted Academy’s

Extended Open House

Allow your child to attend MSGA for one full month—with no obligation to continue afterward.

Your child will experience the real academic, social, and emotional rhythm of a school built specifically for gifted and academically advanced learners.

Your family will have time to determine whether MSGA is the right fit—not based on a single visit, but on a genuine experience.

The Extended Open House fee is $4,500.

If your family chooses to continue at MSGA, the full $4,500 is credited toward tuition.

Some decisions deserve more than one day.

Choosing a new school is a meaningful decision.
✓
A tour or shadow day is just a first impression — a snapshot, not the full picture. A child may need more time to move beyond the uncertainty of being new, develop relationships, experience meaningful academic challenge, and decide whether they genuinely feel known and comfortable.
✓
Parents need time, too. You deserve the opportunity to see how your child responds to the environment, what they say about their days, whether they feel connected, and whether the school's approach aligns with what your family has been seeking.
✓
One visit captures a moment. A month reveals patterns. Extended Open House gives your child time to experience MSGA as a real member of the community.
✓
Enough information to decide with confidence — a full picture of daily life at MSGA, so your family can make the right choice, not just an educated guess.

What your child will experience

One full month as an MSGA student

Your child attends classes, engages in school life, builds relationships, and experiences MSGA’s authentic rhythm. This isn’t just observation from outside; it’s a real chance to experience the school firsthand.

01

Full-Time Gifted Education

Not a pull-out service, honors track, or enrichment period — the entire school is designed around gifted learners.

02

Appropriate Challenge, Greater Depth

Deep thinking, meaningful questions, and creative problem-solving — responsive to each student's readiness and strengths.

03

Intellectual Peers

Students learn among other curious, intense, creative, and academically advanced learners — peers they can truly connect with.

04

Adults Who Take the Time to Understand

A small-by-design community where guides know how each student thinks, what motivates them, and what helps them grow.

“There’s a difference between serving gifted students and being built for them.
The right educational fit changes everything.”

Your family receives a comprehensive Strengths-Based Learner Profile

During MSGA admissions, families get a Strengths-Based Learner Profile to understand the child’s overall development.

The profile highlights strengths first, showcasing positives. It integrates admission info for a complete view of the child, beyond transcripts, tests, diagnoses, or impressions.

The Strengths-Based Learner Profile remains yours, even if your child doesn’t continue at MSGA after the Extended Open House.

The initial call is a short, no-pressure chat to learn about your child, answer your questions, and see if Extended Open House is a good next step.

Your child is not a problem to solve. They are a person to understand.

How Extended Open House works

We begin with a brief discussion about your child, your needs, and whether Extended Open House is the next step. No need to be ready to apply before booking this call.

Complete the admissions application

If the opportunity seems aligned, your family completes MSGA’s regular admissions application and provides the necessary information about your child.

Receive an invitation to enroll

MSGA reviews applications to see if the school and Extended Open House can serve your child. Participation needs an invite and space in the relevant grade or cohort.

Begin the one-month experience

Once the application is complete and an invitation accepted, your child may start once arrangements are finalized with the admissions team.

Decide what comes next

At month’s end, your family decides whether to stay at MSGA. If enrolled, the $4,500 Open House fee credits toward tuition. If not, no obligation, and you keep the Learner Profile.

Is Extended Open House Right for Your Child?

This experience may be particularly valuable if your child:

  • ✓

Is gifted or academically advanced and needs greater challenge

  • ✓

Has become bored, disengaged, or frustrated in a traditional classroom

  • ✓

Wants opportunities to explore ideas with greater depth

  • ✓

Has struggled to find authentic intellectual peers

  • ✓

Has an uneven learning profile or is twice-exceptional

  • ✓
