Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance at MSGA

We don’t want cost to be the reason a strong-fit child misses out. MSGA offers limited need-based tuition assistance each year, through a clear and transparent process.

Because funds are limited, assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis — so applying early matters. Late applications may receive reduced or unavailable aid, even for families who received assistance before. Applications are submitted through the Clarity system by the January deadline.

The basics

What is MSGA’s tuition assistance program?
Need-based assistance that helps families make an MSGA education possible. We prioritize current families facing financial challenges so their students can continue with us, then allocate remaining funds to new qualified applicants.
How does tuition assistance fit MSGA’s mission?
It keeps MSGA within reach for a wider range of families, so a child who belongs here isn’t kept away by cost alone.
Does assistance continue year to year?
Yes. We continue assistance through graduation, as long as the family shows continued need and completes the annual reapplication.

Applying through Clarity

What is the Clarity system?
Clarity is a secure online platform that assesses financial need. It recommends a tuition amount a family can reasonably afford, based on household factors like income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and the number of children in tuition-charging schools.
How do I apply through Clarity?
Visit the Clarity application portal, then:
  1. Create an account, or log in if you’ve applied before.
  2. Complete the application with accurate financial information — tax documents, W-2s, and any other requested materials.
  3. Pay the application fee.

Eligibility and allocation

Who is eligible for tuition assistance?
Families with demonstrated financial need. Priority goes to current MSGA families, with remaining funds allocated to new applicants who meet our criteria.
How much assistance can I receive?
It varies with Clarity’s recommendation and the funds available. Our committee weighs all factors to distribute aid fairly.
What happens after I apply?
Once your application and documents are verified, Clarity evaluates your situation and sends MSGA a recommendation. Our committee reviews it, and decisions are shared by email from the Business Office.
